The faith and love of the Colossians were rooted in a hope laid up in heaven. Biblical hope is not wishful thinking. It is confident expectation based on God's promises. Because Christ has conquered sin and death, believers have an eternal inheritance waiting for them.

When our eyes are fixed on eternity, we gain strength for today's challenges. Hope gives us perspective, endurance, and joy.

Reflection Question

How would my priorities change if I focused more on eternal things than temporary things?
