Bow Before the King

Reading: Philippians 2:5–11

Key Verse: "At the name of Jesus every knee will bow." (Philippians 2:10)

Devotion

One day every ruler, every nation, and every person will acknowledge the authority of Jesus Christ.

The only question is whether we will bow before Him willingly today or be compelled to acknowledge Him in the future.

The good news of the gospel is that the King who rules with all authority is also the Savior who gave His life for sinners. He invites us to repent, believe, and receive forgiveness through His grace.

As you prepare for worship this Sunday, ask yourself one simple question:

Is Jesus merely important to me, or is He truly first in my life?

May our response be one of joyful surrender to the One who is worthy of first place in everything.

• Have I truly surrendered my life to Jesus Christ?

• Is there an area of my life I have withheld from His authority?

• How can I honor Christ as King today?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You alone are worthy of first place in my life. Forgive me for trying to rule my own heart. Today I gladly surrender to You as my Savior, my Lord, and my King. May my life bring glory to Your name. Amen.
