Daily Devotion: Complete in Christ Week Two, Day Five

Scripture: Ephesians 1:15–19

"...I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ...may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him."

Devotion

Paul's prayer in Ephesians sounds remarkably similar to his prayer in Colossians.

His greatest desire wasn't simply that believers would know about God.

He wanted them to know God Himself.

There is a difference.

We can accumulate Bible facts without growing spiritually. But when we truly know Christ, our hearts change, our priorities change, and our lives begin to reflect Him.

Paul prayed that believers would understand the hope of God's calling, the riches of His inheritance, and the immeasurable greatness of His power.

The more we know Christ, the more confident we become in His promises and the more faithfully we follow His will.

Prayer

Father, help me know You more deeply each day. Open the eyes of my heart so I can better understand Your hope, Your power, and Your love. May my relationship with You grow stronger as I seek You through Your Word and prayer. In Jesus' name, Amen.
